Dr. Anil Gupta is an energetic physician and researcher, leading studies in a number of different therapeutic areas. In addition to a busy clinic practice and his research work, Dr. Gupta has served as an Organizing Member for Toronto Public Health's Influenza Vaccination Program and is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine at University of Toronto. His clinic is open 7 days a week.

The clinic is open seven days a week, which usually makes study visits easier to fit around work. ECG, blood draws and pulmonary function testing are done on site, and there is an on-site lab, so most study assessments do not need a second trip. Mention any parking, mobility or scheduling needs when the coordinator calls and the team will work around them where they can.

What happens on a first visit

1A phone call firstA coordinator calls to go through your health history and answer your questions. Nothing is booked until you want it to be.
2Informed consentThe team walks through the study in plain language, including what is being tested and the known risks.
3Screening checksSimple tests confirm whether the study is a fit. Being screened does not commit you to taking part.

Do I need a referral from my family doctor?

No. You can contact the site directly. With your permission the research team will keep your family doctor informed, which is standard practice in clinical research.

I am not a patient at this clinic. Can I still take part?

Yes. The site works with volunteers from across Etobicoke and the wider Toronto area, alongside local family doctors, specialists and nurse practitioners.

Will taking part cost me anything?

No. Study visits and study-related assessments are provided at no cost, and reasonable travel costs may be reimbursed where a study allows it.
