Dr. Anil Gupta Wins 2022 OCFP Award for Excellence

JoinAStudy.ca is proud to offer heartfelt congratulations to Principal Investigator Dr. Anil Gupta for being awarded the prestigious Ontario College of Family Physicians (OCFP) “Award of Excellence“. His contributions to patient care, advocacy, and education have not only made a significant impact on the healthcare landscape in Ontario, but have also set a commendable standard for excellence. This recognition is a testament to his unwavering commitment and leadership in advancing family medicine.  

Dr. Gupta is being recognized for conducting ground-breaking research on sotrovimab as a COVID-19 treatment, which had an immediate, positive and global impact on the clinical management of COVID-19. He has also supported several COVID–19 related studies that helped further the understanding and ability of doctors to treat patients during this critical time. He is the lead author of research entitled, “Effect of Sotrovimab on Hospitalization and Death in High-Risk Patient with Mild to Moderate COVID-19, A Randomized Clinical Trial,” which has been published in the New England Journal of Medicine and Journal of the American Medical Association.
